Pakistan School in Tehran was inaugurated by Foreign Minister, late Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto on October 17, 1964. Afterwards, the school evolved into Pakistan Embassy International School and College (PEISCT) which is the only institute affiliated with the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE), Islamabad, as well as University of Cambridge International Examination, UK. Consequently, PEISCT is the unique institute in Tehran which offers curricula from pre-nursery to A-levels, (Cambridge, UK) and grade XII. In regards to further exchange of information between both institutions, the members of the International affairs from SUTIC visited Ms. Taj Shaheen, the esteemed principal of the Pakistan school in Tehran to talk in detail.
The Indian Community in Tehran started a school under the name ‘Indian School’ in 1952 to cater to the educational needs of the Indian Community in Tehran. Later, when it got affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, it became ‘Indian Senior Secondary School’. Dr. N. Ali Soufi, the esteemed Vice-president of KV Tehran Indian School addressed about potential students who would intend to pursue their further studies at SUTIC from India and Kashmir and introduced ways of collaboration to further exhibit SUTIC’s academic programs within these countries/states.
Bearing in mind that students at both Pakistan and Indian Schools have studied in English medium institutions, the main purpose of this visit was to not only introduce the academic programs but also encourage these students of Grade XII to pursue their further studies in an English medium university. As the first and the only International campus with English as the medium of instruction in the Islamic Republic of Iran, SUTIC is proud to inform the schools on having more than 2000 graduate students working or studying at world-famous companies and universities around the world. Expanding international collaboration is one of the core values at SUTIC and taking this into consideration, during the visit, SUTIC discussed to close some mutual agreements with both institutions.
